Ah.

Just watched "Freedom Writers" with Wen last night, to catch up to all my lost time with an old friend :D
Spent most of our time talking cock and playing Bomberman; and please don't think that we're little kiddies, cuz we're doin' what real men do best : killing time.

The movie touches on two different aspects.
Firstly, it shows the racially divided country; from Chinese, to Cambodians, ranging from Latins to Nigerians. One wrong move would cost you your life, and almost half the population carries a loaded gun. Numerous people die by drive-by shoot outs. Killing was so common.
Lastly, it scales down to a class of students, who came from Homes or camps and were forced to study. Their new teacher, Erin Gruwell (played by Hilary Swank, omg I love her!) tries her best to understand them and failing on different attempts, she makes them write a diary each. It could be scribbles to pictures to anything they wanted to say or speak about.

Leaving out the spoilers, just have the above with a pinch of salt.
I personally feel that it is a must watch, but give and take, I'm taken in by this movie already (and by Hilary Swank) :D

2 weeks more to Passing Out Parade, and I'm still slacking through the government chalet.

Recently got super hooked on The Dance Floor tv show in SG, so basically I'm you-tubing it every now and then.
